Dahday’s Picks For Coolest Games To Attend This Summer – Opening Day to All-Star Break Edition

April 2, 2014

Collage baseball_edited-1You want some other ideas for ballgames this spring and early summer? Dahday has made our picks! Our choices include visiting star players, promotional giveaways and even a baseball and music doubleheader!

If you need help with these or any other ballgame this year, feel free to call 1-877-959-4699 or email info@dahday.com. We can help you out.

Monday-Thursday, April 14-17 – Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves
The Braves are last season’s NL East champs with concerns about injuries to the pitching staff. The Phillies want to prove the older core and the young guys can mesh together for a playoff run. Seeing the first head-to-head series between rivals at The Bank is value enough. But on top of that, this series has some fun incentives. Monday’s game has a Hatfield Dollar Dog Night promotion so you can pig out on cheap ballpark franks. Tuesday’s game honors Jackie Robinson. Thursday’s game starts at 1:05pm so you can ditch school or work and enjoy a ballgame. We bet you could find a 400 level ticket for under $25 per seat for any of these games. Not bad.

Monday-Wednesday, May 26-28 – New York Mets vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
The Mets will host the Pirates and 2013 National League MVP Andrew McCutchen. When not impersonating the likes of Derek Jeter and Roberto Clemente on ESPN’s Youtube channel, McCutchen is maintaining his considerable averages and given that he made his noteworthy Major League debut against the Mets they may have something to watch out for. Plus if you just need to be inside the ballpark, you could easily find a ticket for less than a car wash.

Tuesday-Wednesday, May 13-14, Friday-Sunday, May 23-25
Phillies vs. Angels & Phillies vs. Dodgers
Weeks after being called “a disappointing team” and other labels in media, the Angels insist they are a team to watch – due in no small part to league favorite, Mike “Millville Meteor” Trout. Trout may be on his way to earning the cries of “MVP” his fans cheer. Getting a weeknight-priced ticket to see arguably the best player in the world who grew up in South Jersey will be a baseball fan’s treat. In contrast, the other Los Angeles team, the Dodgers, are having an up and down season so far with Clayton Krenshaw still in rehab for his injury. However, they may have a trump card in Yasiel Puig whose 410 ft. homerun is all over social media.

Thursday, June 5 at 1:05pm – New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics
Another good opportunity to take a day off and check out a ballgame. The A’s are always a tough team, earning a playoff spot last season. The Yankees are poised to contend this season for a playoff spot. It’s not only a good match up if you get there on time, you should get a free travel mug that day. What more could you want in a day off?

Saturday, June 14 at 4pm – New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres
This one delivers a baseball and Hip Hop doubleheader! The Mets Concert Series launches into the 2014 season with Queens legend 50 Cent at Citi Field after the June 14 ballgame. Post-game concert promotions are always the best because you get the ballgame and the concert essentially for free. So bust out the G-Unit tees and party like it’s your birthday!

Friday, July 4 at 7:10pm – New York Mets vs. Texas Rangers
If you decide against flipping burgers on the grill this July 4, heading out to Citi Field would be a cool alternative. The Mets face the heavily-talented Texas Rangers and its mix of long time Rangers like Adrian Beltre and new additions like Prince Fielder and Shin-Soo Choo. If you stick around after the game, enjoy a lovely promotional fireworks display as well.
