When it comes to great outdoor concerts, Philly is the city that loves you back!

Synonymous with July 4th celebrations, Philly also has newer summertime traditions for music fans in the region, including The Roots Picnic this past weekend. Check out Dahday’s picks for great music in the Delaware Valley this summer:

Sunday, June 12 at TBD: Brand Nubian and Biz Markie at Odunde Festival, 23rd and South Streets, Philadelphia, PA | Free

Philly’s free festival celebrating African culture features arts and crafts booths, food and beverage stands and this year hosts hip hop classics Brand Nubian and Biz Markie. This will be dope. Guaranteed.

Monday, July 4 at 5pm: Wawa Welcome America! at Ben Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA | Free

Yazz The Greatest
Arguably the best July 4th extravaganza in the United States, two week’s worth of festivities culminates with this free concert in front of the Art Museum, this year hosted by Hamilton’s
Leslie Odom, Jr.
and featuring the O’Jays, the Intruders and Empire’s Yazz The Greatest. Settle in early for a great spot on The Parkway and enjoy the concert on Independence Day!

Saturday and Sunday, July 9-10 at 12 noon-8pm: 35th Annual Hispanic Fiesta at Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia, PA | Free

Filadelfia’s most popular Latino summer festival, the Hispanic Fiesta features a plaza filled with food and other vendors while the Penn’s Landing concert stage hosts a diverse slate of Latino music and dance all day and night. The headlining artists, who would take the stage near the end of each evening, are to be announced soon.

The High Road Tour arguably will be the best hip hop show in the Philly area this summer yet it’s taking place at this ampitheater formerly known as Susquehanna Bank Center, located on the Camden side of the Delaware River.

Enjoy the best in classic soul and R&B in a city-run outdoor venue located on the eastern end of Fairmount Park. True R&B fans will love this venue and enjoy the show with the diehard soul music fans in attendance.

Saturday and Sunday, September 3-4 at 12pm: Budweiser Made In America 2016 at Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA | Free Price Quote

Jay-Z’s mega-concert each Labor Day Weekend did not take off in L.A. like it has in Philadelphia. So expect a packed Parkway enjoying an eclectic set of hip hop, R&B and indy music once again.
