Dahday’s Five Favorite Prince Live Clips

April 21, 2016

It’s hard to believe but one of the revolutionary artists in American music, Prince, has passed away April 21. He was just 57 years old.

Prince piano and microphone picPrince had been performing in pop-up shows in his “Piano and a Microphone” Tour but recently cancelled two shows due to illness. Reports state that a private plane of which he was a passenger recently had to make an unscheduled landing due to his medical issues.

In celebration of this extremely influential singer, songwriter and musician, we picked our five favorite clips. Indeed, there are too many to count but here are some of the best. Check out for more picks later this week:

There are very little video of his final tour, but here is a short clip of a March 4, 2016 performance of Prince at a piano with a microphone:

One of Prince’s earliest hit smashes, check out The Purple One – in black and white footage no less – perform “I Wanna Be Your Lover” during a concert at the old Capitol Theatre in Passaic, N.J.:

Probably always will be associated with fellow pop legend Michael Jackson who was also born in 1958 as Prince but also took inspiration from the legendary James Brown. This famous clip of all three sharing the same stage is a treasure:

True Prince fans enjoy his entire catelogue not just the big pop hits. Prince performed a B-side favorite “She’s Always In My Hair” at the Arsenio Hall Show a few years ago:

Maybe his biggest hit, enjoy Prince sing “Purple Rain” to close his halftime performance at Super Bowl XLI:

R.I.P. Prince.
