Dahday's Five Favorite George Michael Live Clips

December 26, 2016

Pop legend George Michael passed away on Christmas Day. He was just 53 years old.

Starting with WHAM! to his short-but-sweet super stardom as a solo artist, Michael’s career and the music he produced will be remembered well beyond his untimely passing. Here are Dahday’s five favorite live clips:

WHAM! – the colorful pop duo Michael formed with friend Andrew Ridgeley – took off in 1984 with “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” and this soulful ballad.

Michael’s solo career took off in 1987 with songs off his juggernaut “Faith” album like this one, “Father Figure:”

Also off his legendary “Faith” LP, a jazzy b-side track was released and it too rose the R&B and pop charts. Here is Michael performing “Kissing a Fool” in L.A. a few years ago:

Michael’s struggles with his sex symbol status and quarrels with his record label led Michael to release arguably his most soulful track, in 1990. Here is Michael performing this classic “Freedom 90” during the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics:

Michael’s singing and songwriting shows with even his holiday classic, “Last Christmas.” R.I.P. George Michael:
