Dahday’s Picks For Hottest NBA Games This 2017-18 Season

No Melo in Gotham. No Vinsanity in Brooklyn. And no more losing in Philly?

The crazy off-season has given way to an unpredictable early season. Still, there are tons of games hoops fans can plan to see the best and brightest starting in the fall.

Here is a quick overview of the hottest games for each area team:

Brooklyn Nets | New York Knicks | Philadelphia 76ers

New York Knicks:

With Carmelo Anthony gone, NYC is Kristaps Porzingis’ town. Though the Knicks are in full rebuilding mode, there are still great matchups to experience at The Garden this season.

The one Knicks fans will find most intriguing could be Melo’s return to NYC as a Oklahoma City Thunder, which takes place on Saturday, December 16. Wonder how the Syracuse Orange and Orange and Blue legend gets welcomed back that night? Go and find out.

Coming from the Western Conference, the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors visit on February 26. James Harden and his gun-and-run Houston Rockets come to The Garden on November 1. The always tough San Antonio Spurs face the Knicks on January 2.

Staying East, Lebron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers come to NYC on November 13 and April 9. Giannis Antetolounmpo and the rising Milwaukee Bucks take on the young Knicks on February 6 and April 7. Finally, Joel Embiid and the young Philadelphia 76ers visit twice, including on Christmas Day, December 25.

After years of #TrustingTheProcess, Sixers fans are talking playoffs. Young stars Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Markelle Fultz among others will try to make that happen. Because of the excitement in Philly, most games will be packed, especially when the league’s best come to the City of Brotherly Love.

Philly sees the NBA champion Golden State Warriors only once and it’s early in the season – Saturday, November 18. After a tough loss at home against the Houston Rockets on October 25, this Warriors game will be another early test. Because Sixers fans hate on the L.A. Lakers, mark down Lonzo Ball’s visit coming on December 7. Then less than a week later, Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony and the OKC Thunder visit on December 15.

Within the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers visit Philly twice, November 27 and more importantly, on April 6, which could have playoff implications. Greek Freak’s Milwaukee Bucks come to Wells Fargo Center on January 20 and on the regular season’s final day, April 11.

John Wall’s Washington Wizards visit on November 29 and February 6 while the New York Knicks head down I-95 on February 12 and March 28.

Brooklyn Nets:

The Nets do have Jeremy Lin out, but D’Angelo Russell and the rest still look to surprise in the less imposing Eastern Conference.

Always the less expensive option to see the Knicks and the NBA’s best in New York City, the Nets host their crosstown rivals on December 14 and on Martin Luther King Day, January 15. The up and coming Philadelphia 76ers visit BK on January 31 and March 11. After beating the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 25, Brooklyn also sees Lebron James and Company on March 25, which could be a huge game if the Nets are still in playoff contention.

The best of the West visit on November 19 (Golden State), January 3 (Minnesota T-Wolves), January 17 (San Antonio Spurs) and February 6 (Houston Rockets).
